A cancelled run and other fun

Where do you think ur running?
Delhi's Women's Run, scheduled for April 7 is -> off.
Not flagged off but switched off. The official line is that it's been indefinitely postponed. You can take that to mean scrapped for a variety of reasons. But let's spend some time exploring some of the theories floating around the scrapping:

- Sponsors backed out (below may explain why)
- It was a harebrained project to begin with
- The organisers had to be taught a lesson for above, especially because:
- A certain organiser, SG, part of the AAP (much feared by powers) was risky
- If powers didn't like, no street-level backing
Ok - so all this theorising isn't going to get it up again. Which is a pity. What isn't a pity however, is that the idea of this blog was begun yesterday evening by 2 sports enthusiasts over Caffè Americano, ultimate hot chocolate, banana muffin and chilli potato.  Actually both of us had met while waiting in line to collect our certificate at RnL's 5th Gurgaon half marathon held Dec 2 2012, just a few month's back. To cut to the chase: we've decided ladies in this city and cities throughout would do well to build some focused commitment to sports.

This forum is going to touch on all things from products, precautions, and performance issues that are oriented to women. Which can mean a lot of things since women are pretty diverse. But we just thought it was high time that there was a women's forum that wasn't patronised by men, yet one that was imaginative and objective.

We are based in Delhi, so a few issues and venues are going to be Delhi-centric but since movement and growth is inevitable, we're going to bring in stuff that will relate to all, one way or another.

Join us for the ride!
